Beck works on a feather inlay in the cabin shop
K357: These rods are a chestnut gloss brown color, high gloss and all are fast action. You can feel only the top 3rd of the rod working as you cast. The diameter of butt section is a little thinner that a Adirondack and the blanks are light and strong. They are all faster than a Blue Line and Adirondack, and smooth to cast. My favorite k357 is the 9 foot 5 weight. I also like to use the 9 foot 8 weight for snook and redfish when I fish in Tarpon Bay in Sanibel.

The K357 was built to fill the void of a fast action rod in our fly rod line up. The guts of this fly rod is a 57 million modulus shaft. The blank color is a chestnut brown.
Proof of the extremely high line speeds these fly rods generate is in their ability to cast an even farther distance than any of its competition. The K357 has been used as the rod of choice for distance casting in competitons like the Field and Stream Ultimate Challenge, in which JP Ross was the only rod used in this competition.
We recomend that you outfitt this blank with Titanium Carbide Guides for added line speed. This rod is great at 50 feet distances and above. If you wish to cast around 20-30 feet with this blank you may decide to overline the rod by one step. For example if you purchase a 5 weight, you can use a 5 weight line for standard to distance casting but for short distance, try a 6 weight.
