Anglers Workshop This Weekend!
On Saturday, March 20th there will be a unique, one day Angler’s Workshop at Twelve Corners Middle School in Rochester. Our intent is to bring together a talented group of experienced fly fishermen willing to share knowledge and to promote fishing. Good content and unique programming will attract fellow anglers from the Upstate NY Area. This will be the largest fly fishing related event of the year in Rochester.
Angler’s Workshop is seeking 20 plus enthusiastic instructors who want to teach and contribute to NY fly fishing. Welcome topics include: hands on fly tying workshops, fly tying demonstrations, specific fly fishing skills, casting instruction, knots, rod building, NY fishing destinations, steelhead and salmon techniques, starting kids w/ fly fishing, kayak fishing, warm
water fishing, internet as an angling resource, etc. Special events including an Angling Theater, 5 wt rod comparison, Casting Course and Competitions, Angler's Atrium, Fly tying expo in the cafeteria and numerous raffle prizes.
Instructors are welcome to choose a fly fishing topic that they are passionate about and will be able to present in a workshop setting or a classroom. Classrooms, shop space, large tables, digital projectors, two gymnasiums, atrium and cafeteria are available for our use. There is a nominal $50 instructor stipend, but you may instead donate your $ to Upstate Fly Fishers or Canandaigua Lake Trout Unlimited Chapter, as all gate proceeds will benefit these two chapters. Even if you aren't able to help out, mark your calendar for March 20th and come join us for this 9 am to 3:30 fly fishing event.
