ADK Trout Bum

Fly Fishing on the West Branch of the Delaware River

Quick report here just to keep this ADK Trout Bum Log rolling along.

I haven't been fishing much, but have managed to get out from time to time. My fishing time will open up tremendously next week when student teaching is finally over. The last time I went fishing, it was down at the West Branch of the Delaware River with Beck. We arrived mid morning and jumped on some opportunities early. We saw some fish that weren't chasing the millions of emerging caddis pupa, but were instead taking spent caddis from either the day before, or cripples that never emerged fully. Beck landed the first couple fish...a dink, then a nice 17'' Brown. My action was at the end of the day, landing a dink and also a 16'' Brown. It wasn't a bad day at all on the water! The fish we caught were taking rusty spinners around mid to late evening.

Keep checking back, especially next week when the reports will really start to increase.

Tight lines.
