The parsec (symbol: pc) is a unit of length used to measure the large distances to astronomical objects outside the Solar System, approximately equal to 3.26 light-years or 206,265 astronomical units (AU), i.e. 30.9 trillion kilometres (19.2 trillion miles).

This fly rod is made of multiple layers of different modulus graphite.  It is a crisp extra fast action and stiff fly rod that can cast an extremely tight loop and cast huge flies.

I field tested this rod with Jeff and Bryan Kimball for a month thinking it was too fast or that the 5 weight was actually a 6 weight.  The Kimball Brothers were excited about the rod and used it for stream casting huge streamers for spring season browns in turbid water.

Mark Usyk then took the 8 weight version to Canada and caught both King and Chum Salmon on this rod and raved about it.

I grabbed the 5 weight and took it to Labrador Canada to cast huge streamers for giant brook trout and pike.  In a picture here is both a pike and brook trout I caught on the 5 weight PARSEC in the same day.

The PARSEC is a blank canvas sanded gray blank.  Every PARSEC is made custom by JP.  Features like carbon grips, rattan handles and Jeff Kimball Art can also be added to this rod.  In the photos shown we also have green, silver and gray carbon inserts for the reel seats to additionally remove weight.  The 5 weights we have built with bare carbon grips and carbon reel seats have come it an less than 2 oz total weight.

The PARSEC is named after the Millennium Falcon, which was a space ship known to have made the "Kessel Run" smuggling route in less than 12 parsecs.
